I'm getting a little crisper on the specific area of design studio culture that I'm interested in exploring, both through more focused literature reviews and through some upcoming research. I'm finding myself interested more and more in the space of learning that's "owned" by the students, but supported or provided by the faculty. This intersects with how (and if) faculty experienced studio culture when they were in school and how this has influenced their own views of situated learning. I'm finding Lave's work particularly interesting, and so I'll use that as a lens for ideas of student territory, self-governance, confidence, and identity-building.
